On April 15, 2015, Tsinghua University issued a proposal for the establishment of the " The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Education Alliance of China", which was actively supported by the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education. On June 11, 2015, "The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Education Alliance of China " was formally established at Tsinghua University. Lin Huiqing, Vice Minister of Education, Qu Zhenyuan, President of the China Higher Education Association, and Qiu Yong, President of Tsinghua University, attended the conference and delivered speeches. The first batch of alliance members include 137 universities such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Nanjing University, University of Science and Technology of China, Harbin Institute of Technology, Xi 'an Jiaotong University, innovative enterprises such as Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent, Intel, Microsoft, and some public institutions and social organizations. By 2019, the alliance has 261 member universities and 60 innovative enterprises as well as some public institutions and social organizations.
Under the guidance of the Ministry of Education. the member units of the alliance will jointly discuss the concepts, methods, and institutional mechanisms of innovation and entrepreneurship education, aiming to create a common platform to gather the strengths of universities and all walks of life, and giving full play to the talents and intellectual advantages of universities, providing high-quality innovation and entrepreneurship education resources to the whole society, in order to form a good innovation and entrepreneurship education ecology, cultivate more innovative and entrepreneurial talents, and contribute to the implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy.
